A Well Earned Achievement

After about five years of very hard work and countless obstacles invoving lack of materials, lack of support by the state, lack of support, knowledge and a willingness to learn more about the problem of the visually challenged by various exam servers, I am very happy to announce that we are VICTORIOUS!
Argiris, our visually challenged student has been awarded the CAMBRIDGE FIRST CERTIFICATE.
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Argiris for his amazing efforts, to his family for believing that this could be done in a country where special people are often overlooked and rarely encouraged, to his family again for believing in us at MLC and placing their trust in us. Another big congratulations to the teachers that worked with Argiris because each lesson required extra preparation. Thank you also for helping me to prepare all the material necessary for the lessons in digital form and finally a very big THANK YOU to the British Council and Cambridge ESOL for being sensitive to the needs of the blind and creating a format of the exam that caters to their needs but assesses them as equals to all other candidates.
WELL DONE TO ALL OF US!

A very big CONGRATULATIONS to our student Argiris. We are all very proud of him. I, personally am also very proud of his classmates. They all helped him where they could and were always patient when his teachers had to spend a bit of extra time with him. Also, I feel Ms Anastasia deserves a lot of the credit as she spent countless hours helping, testing, retesting and encouraging Argiris. Credit should go where credit is due. I have been told that in the past, at school, Argiris was given a photocopy and told to study it. This not only shows a lack of a brain, but also empathy and compassion for a fellow human being. It also reinforced my opinion of the Greek education system....

Spot on Miss Anna! You are always so on the ball. Lack of a brain... thank God it's not contagious!

Well done Argiris!
Maybe time for another challenge now?
Check out some lyrics I found while I was surfing the net the other day!
When I think success
I see it comes
When i dream success
I see it comes

Success is not a gift or gain,
Success is accepting and believing in your name.
Success is not a point or goal to seek,
Success is, believing you have never reached the peak.

Well done everybody,
especially you, Argiris!

Great lyrics! I think these are words we should all live by. Let's all strive for our own peak.
