Christmas Fever

This being the last week of lessons everyone is gearing up for the end of year Christmas parties. Preps to C class will be having their party on Friday 5:00 - 6:30 and everyone else will have their own private class parties in their final lesson. So get organised with your music and snacks and enjoy! Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Lessons begin

Cambridge certificates have arrived

Successful Cambridge candidates, your certificates have arrived so come in and get them. Come prepared to have your photo taken! Remember to call first.
The certificates are: Proficiency, First Certificate and PET.

ECCE Results

Congratulations to Olga Paraskevopoulou, Vicky Bikou and Chris Zaggelidis for achieving their Michigan Certificate, ECCE. Well Done!

Cambridge Proficiency Results

Congratulations to Alice Kraterou, Konstantinos Ritos, Costas Tasis and Markos Tranos for achieving their Cambridge Proficiency Certificates and to Anthi Ioannidou for achieving the Cambridge Advanced Certificate. Well done guys!

Cambridge FCE Results

End of another school year

Another year is over. All exams are finished and now we wait for the dreaded results. Cambridge results will be out mid June and Michigan, sometime in July. Results for all other year levels will be available from this Thursday 2nd June till next Wednesday 8th June. Parents can come from 5 - 9pm on those days for the end of year reports. Good luck to those of you still taking school exams.

Ending with Oral Exams

FOUR days to go!!!

Proficiency students, this is your final week of oral lessons so learn all those helpful expressions and vocabulary to really lift your level of spoken English. You should all be speaking only English all of this week even to your parents and grandparents...it doesn't matter if they don't understand you they can still be impressed. And once you're done impressing family you can go on and knock the socks off your examiners. Happy practising!!!

Almost there..........

Ahhhh a week to go. Am I the only one counting down?

Is anybody else counting down the days left or do you all love your English lessons so much that you don't want them to end, because if that's the case I'm sure I can arrange something for you. But it will definitely be without yours truly. I'm sure you can handle things on your own....yes??

Michigan Exams

Last weekend was Michigan weekend with ECCE on Saturday and ECPE on Sunday.

For a lot of you the year is already over. A few of you still have ECPE Orals to look forward to. There's just one week to go so hang in there it's nearly over. Just make sure you don't miss any of your oral practice lessons as this is your last opportunity to practise what you've learnt and dazzle the examiners with your oral skills.

Also don't forget to tell us your impressions of the Michigan exams. Most of you felt very positive about them when you came out but some of you weren't so sure. Now that you've had some time to think about it, what do you think???

Feedback on Cambridge Exams

Cambridge FCE and Proficiency written exams are over and the feedback was mixed. We still have FCE orals ahead and the PET exams. This weekend coming is Michigan weekend. ECCE is on Saturday and ECPE is on Sunday. Make the most of your final week to revise and of course ask any questions that you might have. This is the week to clarify any remaining queries.

HAU Workshop / Mock Oral

The Hellenic American Union Oral Exam Workshop took place today and I really believe it gave everyone present invaluable help. A great big thank you to Miss Kasimi for her helpful tips and specialist knowledge on how to get through these exams painlessly and successfully. I feel confident that everyone has a much better idea of what is expected and knows exactly what to do in every part of the oral exam.

I think the teachers deserve awards for their performances as students and examiners in the role plays.

All in all a productive and informative morning. More practice will of course be provided over the next few weeks. Remember to revise what you have been given and most importantly apply it.

We would really appreciate feedback on this workshop so please let us know what you thought of this event.

Extra Exam Practice classes

A definitive programme is now available for the Hellenic American Union seminars.

ECCE students (Lower) Thursday 28th April 11:00 - 1:00pm and ECPE students(Proficiency) from 1:00 - 3:00pm.

On the following day, Friday 29th April, both levels will have extra exam practice starting at 11:00 am.

We will see you all there! Until then enjoy your Easter.

Easter Break

Easter is here and another break is almost upon us. Yes we all deserve a reprieve from all the hard work. So a happy and very restful Easter to all.

But...certificate students...no reprieve for you. As well as all the revising that you are going to do at home we have also scheduled some lessons for the next two weeks. The first is on Monday the 18th at 11 am. We will schedule the others on Monday so see you there.

P.S Leave sulky faces and complaints at home please.

25th March Celebrations

All of us at the MLC would like to wish all our students and their parents a happy 25th March celebration holiday. Spring is definitely in the air and it is going to be a beautiful day so enjoy your long weekend! We will all be back on Monday as usual so don't forget to do any homework.
A reminder to all FCE and Prof students that your FINAL Mock Exam will be the following weekend on the 2nd April.

More Exams

Mardi Gras celebrations are over and it's back to some serious work again. Even as I type our FC and Prof students are working away on Mock Exam 4. Good luck everyone! I of course expect to see a 10% improvement so don't disappoint me.
Remember our next Mock Exam is Saturday April 2nd.

MARDI GRAS

Mardi Gras is back! Some people at our school have made a great effort to bring the spirit of Mardi Gras to class. Thanks guys we had a great laugh!!

Term 2 Programme

The new term is well underway, Mocks and Mid Year Exams have been completed but...
The next lot of Mock Exams are coming soon. The dates for all Mocks until the end of the year are as follows: Mock 3 Saturday 26th February
Mock 4 Saturday 12th March
Mock 5 Saturday 2nd April

Also FC's don't forget to start preparing for your Oral Presentations in about two weeks, February 28th.

For everybody else Term 2 Exams will take place the week ending 17/18th March.
Don't leave your studies for the last minute!!!!

Return to classes 2011

The first day of 2011 is here. I'd like to welcome everyone back and remind you all that whinging,whining,complaining and grumbling are not allowed. Put your happy smiles on, take your enthusiasm with you and we'll be waiting to see you. By the way if you haven't finished your holiday homework yet, you'd better get started !!!!!

Pre Christmas Celebrations

Obviously the talent at this school is not confined to the classroom alone. Students and teachers alike showed their singing skills in a Karaoke session. It was such a laugh that another Karaoke night is being planned. So practise with your hairbrushes and infront of your mirrors because MLC X-FACTOR will return soon...
